Did
you know you are your child's first and
most important teacher?
"Distinct windows of opportunity for learning occur as you child
grows. Some will close only to open again at a later stage of development. Some
will never open again
It is vital you take advantage of the opportunity to provide the
experiences that will stimulate growth in these areas."

Homeschooling
- Is
This The Answer For Your Child?
Whether
it is or it isn't your child is going to need some form
of homeschooling - and we'd like to help.
The
most important work you and I ever do will be within
the wall of our own homes. Harold
B.Lee (1899 -1973)
Homeschooling
is not the primary focus of this site. Our focus
is children, and how they learn, and not whether that happens
in school or as a result of homeschooling.
Homeschooling
is inevitable at some point. Let's face it - we are
our children's first and most important teachers.
It needn't be a scary prospect, rather an opportunity
to be grasped. Why not read our free
report that provides vital information on those first
crucial six months of homeschooling.
Homeschooling
is an exciting development. Why? Because
parents
can respond more rapidly
to the increase in knowledge of how
the brain works and the practical implications for
their child. Having been involved in education all
my life I know how frustratingly slowly the educational
wheels of change can grind. But this is obviously
not a problem for a child who is experiencing homeschooling.
Homeschooling
means children can learn in the way that suits them
best. We
all have individual learning styles.
Mostly we are a mix of visual, auditory, tactile and
kinesthetic. Some of us are fortunate enough to
be able to adapt to any style despite our personal preferences.
However there are those who will always need to learn
with a strong emphasis on one particular style.
Young children, for example, are predominantly
kinesthetic and tactile learners. It
is often difficult for schools to adapt to individual
children's needs, but the opposite is true of homeschooling.
Homeschooling
- a business analogy. IBM is a corporate
business giant. One day along came Apple - a bunch
of kids from California wearing Birkensocks and T-shirts.
Result? IBM were seriously embarassed by their competitors
new product - an user-friendly computer armed with innovative software.
They were compelled to respond. Apple didn't
exactly put IBM out of business but they forced them
to follow. What
has this to do with homeschooling?
Homeschooling
- the Apple of the education system. For most
parents considering embarking on the homeschooling (ad)venture
the state system must appear as imposing and intimidating
as IBM. But remember
you have certain distinct advantages. You
know your child and can respond to his needs. You are
in a position to assist your child with self-directed
learning where he is in control not an external curriculum
driven by standardized test results. Neither
are you
subject to the same constraints and frustrating
circumstances as the ordinary teacher. Unfortunately
so many teachers are forced to work with large class
sizes delivering subjects (and dogma) that they do not always feel
are in the best interests of the children in their care. This
will never be true of homeschooling.
