Math - The ONE Subject Most Likely To Cause Your Child To Fail?

"Dad, Can You Help Me With My Math Homework?"

One area of learning where children (and adults) traditionally struggle is math.
It's one of those subjects we either love or hate (mostly hate!).
Unfortunately it's also one of those subjects that your child will probably need if he/she is to achieve their potential in life.
It is absolutely vital your child gets the right start at the earliest age possible.

Release The Math Potential In Your Child

Research has shown that Math can evoke negative emotions, even guilt, in anyone - regardless of their status or position.

It made us determined to find a way of teaching math that not only would every child enjoy but would release the enormous potential within each of them.
If as a parent, teacher or carer you would like to release that potential in your child or student then please read on...

Math teaching (and learning) appears to be in crisis.

Dire predictions for the future economic welfare of the UK are forecast if the situation does not improve radically.
In the U.S.concern has been raised about the lack of math achievement by girls.

 "Math class is tough!"

Let’s be honest, are you surprised?

How many of us actually liked Math in school?
Is it any wonder our children feel the same? For so many of us – including teachers -
the very term Math evokes negative emotions of fear and guilt!

Carl Jung, one of the greatest psychologists who ever lived,  recalls the trauma of his algebra lesson:

"The teacher pretended that algebra was a perfectly natural affair, to be taken for granted, whereas I didn't even know what numbers were. Mathematics classes became sheer terror and torture to me. I was so intimidated by my incomprehension that I did not dare to ask any questions."

So what can you do to help your child or student succeed where so many of us have failed?

Parents/Carers- if you are confident your child is going to receive the best possible math education from the very start there is no point reading any further.

Teachers – if you are confident your K - 5 math or Foundation Stage curriculum is the best it can be, that it will instil a lifelong love for math in your students – do likewise!
